life of late has encountered many things
like new jobs, travel, and new rings
ok I can't rhyme anymore.
I got some new jobs, and I'm travelling to Melbourne a lot still, but I didn't get new rings. I'm going to get new necklaces but not new rings. =O
I've started skipping to get stronger and fitter, it's a killer but I got a red skipping rope so it's awesome.
Can't wait to get my $100 cheque from the Brain Sciences Institute so I can get a haircut.
Can't wait to start earning money.
Can't wait til the new Frankie comes out.
Can't wait til Leisa's and Reece's 21sts. They are gonna rock my socks off. =D
CAN'T WAIT TIL SUMMER!
and that's all I feel like writing.
I ordered my 2009 Moleskine today. I also bought a Moleskine pocket notebook because I want to follow this GTD hack for Moleskine Notebooks from Eston Bond. It looks like I could really use it day-to-day, seeing as how I love lists and all. Looking through the compact calendars from David Seah also, I made my own from October 1st 2008 - October 1st 2009. It made me realise that within a year my whole life is going to be undergoing some massive changes.
I'll have finished my Multimedia (Business Marketing) degree by the time the calendar ends.
I'll be looking for jobs.
Everything will be changing, everyone will be getting older, and most of my friends will also be finishing their uni courses and going into the big wide world. Of course when you move from High School to Uni, that is also called moving into the big wide world. I guess each world becomes big when you don't know what is in it.
I decided today that what I really want to do, is be a photographer.
I spend most of my life taking pictures, and gained the nickname papparazzi in high school.
I won a photography award in grade 5. I did photography in year 10, and loved it.
I figured its something I don't think I would hate if I had to do it everyday, and I reckon I'd really enjoy it. so why not give it a go?
So basically the rest of this year will be saving for a SLR camera, and re-learning what I learnt in year 10 about SLR cameras and how they work, and what makes a great and interesting photo.
The past couple of weeks have been a bit crazy, there has been so much happening.
I moved back to Geelong, and trying to organise my stuff back home has been a bit of a disaster. I have way too much stuff, and most of it I want to keep for when I move out again, so it's a matter of finding a spot where it will fit.
I've been loving seeing Reece everyday, it's such a change from the depressing non-Reece weekdays of Melbourne.
The only problem with living in Geelong is I've become so accustomed to Melbourne, and what I didn't realise was that it wasn't just uni keeping me there. It was everyone and everything. The city, the shopping, the hustle bustle, the closeness of EVERYTHING, how it actually has everything, the quality of everything is so much higher (i.e. food), and most of all, my mates. I miss seeing them whenever I like. I miss our random Tuesday night adventures. I miss just dropping in on people and going on expeditions to wherever we want. I was talking to someone the other day who said I will probably be travelling a lot for the first 3 months I'm back. I reckon that's true. I'll see how I go!
I've also been noticing what people have been noticing in me. Like my Dad noticing that I 'keep weird hours'. When he said that it was 10:30pm on a Sunday night and I was having a toasted sandwich for dinner, when they had had theirs 3 hours before. I get up early to do stuff, and other days I sleep half the day. I go out late, then get up early. I go to bed early yet sleep all day. I have no schedule as such, and this is what I'd do in Melbourne. I'd go supermarket shopping at 1am. I'd randomly go to Chadstone just for an hour after uni. Tait was saying how I'm a Melbourne person now, and everyone is expecting me to be how I was; a Geelong person. They are expecting me to be the same as I was when I lived in Geelong before uni. I think that is completely true as well. I've changed a lot and people haven't noticed, because I've been far far away.
I got some business cards printed with Moo -- they are awesome! I love their quality of print, paper, everything. Everything they do is perfect.
So here is a sneak peak...
And here's a few pics of my gorgeous kitty.
I'm trying to be happy.
I only have to survive one more day, but I'm so angry and hurt from the way things have turned out that I think my emotions will ruin the only night we have together.
It's been way too long.
The past week I've worked a shitload!! my week consisted of:
Monday: study day
Tuesday: 9:00am Multimedia Technology exam, then work 5:45pm til 1:00am (7hrs 15mins)
Wednesday: work 5:00pm til 1:00am (8hrs) (sleep for 4 hrs then go back to work the next day)
Thursday: work 9:30am til 7:00pm (9hrs 30mins)
Friday: work 2:45pm til 10:00pm (7hrs 15mins)
Saturday: Reece comes up Friday night, so Saturday is a bum around day, catch up day
Sunday: Reece leaves when I go to work. Work 3:00pm til 11:15pm (8hrs 15mins)
So that's a total of 40.25 hours. No wonder I'm sick as a dog!!
I was going to get a haircut with Brooke this morning but our hairdresser canceled on us, so I went to the doctor instead, after a 3 hour nap. It was crazy because I never sleep during the day!
I went to the doctor and she gave me some drugs, because as I'm flying to Sydney on Friday, I really don't want to get an infected ear like I always do when I'm sick. So I've started taking those now, so hopefully I'm right for Friday.
Apart from doing nothing today, I've found this new site -- kind of like eBay, but with handmade and vintage goods. It's called Etsy. So I found my outfit for our Mexican party next weekend: so that's gonna rock. and it's even from Mexico! Yay!
On this site I found a few more things that I'm interested in, as well as finding my old favourite from Free People. Of course Free People don't ship to Australia so I'm left here being sad over this beautiful dress. I'm thinking I just take a good look at the pictures and try to make it myself with the help of a few people.
Anyway the other things I found that I like are:
- A little purse
- Dress -- from France
- a sexy red dress
- Bluebell earrings -- for Brooke, they would totally suit her.
And of course I've been staring at my Free People dress all day. If anyone would like to buy it for me and send it to me in Australia it would be much appreciated. I will pay you back via PayPal!!
So that is my internet surfing for the day. Oh! And I found the most amazing cake I have ever seen here:
So this coming week consists of:
Monday: 2:45pm Doctor's appointment. Ellie's 15th birthday.
Tuesday: work 9:30am til 6:00pm. Kellie's 18th birthday also, not going back to Geelong in order to get better for the weekend.
Wednesday: work 6:00pm til 12:30am. nothing planned during the day.
Thursday: Work 11:30am til 5:30pm, travel back to Geelong and get organized to fly to Sydney the next day. Leave Pie at parents place. Stay at Reece's.
Friday: Arrive AT LEAST half an hour to check in for the 6:30am flight to Sydney. Maybe go to Sydney Aquarium?
Saturday: Sydney - 3:00pm see recording of Good News Week.
Sunday: 7:30pm flight back to Melbourne - Avalon. Get Pie and go back to Melbourne for 9:30am class on Monday.
Pie has been going crazy lately too -- she's been getting very affectionate, and because of this I can't cut her nails because she won't sit still! Here's some photos of her craziness...
In other news, there are 25 days to go til the Apple 3G iPhone is released in Australia!! Can't wait for this beauty =D
I think that's all the news for now, I'm just hoping I get better before Friday's adventures begin!
Let me know if you want to buy me a dress =D
I've had the experience of living with a French man, and consequently his Australian girlfriend for probably the past 2 months.
This girl, at first, seemed quite nice. She is 30 years old, and is a nurse.
But, after a few weeks, I found, is a complete BITCH to live with, even though she shouldn't even be living with us considering she doesn't pay rent, pay bills, and just sucks the life out of us.
What would you do if someone did this to you? --
- Used your computer when you weren't home, and didn't even tell you/ask you til a few weeks later?
- Parked in your driveway leaving no room for you, when it is a busy street and there are hardly any parks for residents? Also clearly knowing that I'm going to come home and park in the driveway, and clearly knowing that she had to leave for work that night, when my car was going to stay there all night.
- Steal things out of your room when you aren't around? Steal things out of the bathroom cabinet that are mainly used in the bathroom, and take those things into their room?
- Wake you up at 3am after you just fell asleep because they are 'hungry', when you are in the middle of the flu and having trouble sleeping, also waking you up because they just got home every other night.
- Telling you to be quiet because they "need to sleep because I have to be awake for 12 hours" when it's 5:30pm at night, and they don't even live there?
I go inside, turn my music up loud because I'm happy I got let off early and have some time to myself.
A few songs later, she comes out of the French man's room, and starts yelling at me to turn it down --"Can I have at least an hour's sleep because I have to work and be awake for 12 hours!"
I obliged, and went out the front to wait for Tait to pick me up after saying loudly that "I'm going outside because I can't make any noise in MY OWN HOUSE!"
Before I left, I wrote a note and stuck it to my door. It said, in a heading at the top -- DON'T, and dot points underneath.
Mostly of what I wrote above in the dot points. Basically saying, don't steal my stuff, don't wake me up at 3am, don't park in my park, don't tell me what to do in my own house, go sleep in YOUR OWN house.
We went to the supermarket, met Lauren there, and then went back to Tait's sister's place, and got changed, went for a run.
This was an hour run, and nearing the end, we messaged Tom to walk to Tait's sister's place, so by the time we got back, he would be there. This resulted in Tom obviously not wanting to walk first of all, and the bitch had to go to work, so was probably getting a bit agitated about my car in her way.
Tom rang Tait a few times, because they couldn't reach me as my phone was at home. Tom was saying that she had to go to work, and my car's in the way, and Tait was like "Well she should have thought of that shouldn't she?!" then hung up. Hahah.
Tom called again and Tait handed it over to me, and explained a bit. So we walked back to Tait's, took our time, and then he drove me and Lauren to my place. We parked a few houses away, and me and Lauren snuck up to my car and ninja'd it out of there, and Tait ran back to his car and took off too.
We got back to Tait's sister's place, and Tom sent a message about me being 12 or something. Tait wrote back saying well at least 12 year olds can walk. HA!
After lots of chats, a lovely chicken and avocado carbonara, and some tea, I drove Lozza home and drove myself home. I went into my room, found the note had been removed from the door, and went to bed. Took me a while to get to sleep as I was still pretty angry.
I got home after work today and found that the French man has gone on his one month holiday. Thank God. If he's coming back to live here, I'm moving out. Either that or there has to be some pretty strict rules put in place. I can't keep living with this shit
******UPDATE********
I got home from work tonight, no-one home. awesome...music up loud again =D
Then Tait came around to eat some chocolate, and then Tom came home...with her. They had gone out to Gladiators together, and the French man is on holidays. Clearly taking her side, and that "I act like I know more than everyone else but really don't" attitude has doubled its size. I'm not sure whether I want to live here anymore when everyone seems to be on the opposing side to me. And the other good thing is, I can leave whenever I want, because there is no lease. HA!
Sarah went out to the Sapore Christmas Party in March at the Saint in St.Kilda on Sunday night. It was an open bar.
Need I say any more.
Sarah ended up having a great night, with lots of dancing, slurpees, vodkas, getting burnt with cigarettes, and d&m's with Shaula.
The next day she threw up a lot, and went into slow mo. She even had to get off the train to work at East Richmond Station to throw up. She missed the bin =(
And that is Sarah's Sunday night.
- People who don't wait for other people to get off the train before they board it
- Customers who can't have what's simply on the menu, they have to take out half the things and add in new things i.e. Calamari, but I don't like rocket, can I have a Greek salad instead but without the lamb, with the calamari there? NO! -- and I know that you don't make your own foccacias, but could I have the pollo pide but without the tomatoes and add in some other stuff?! NO!
- People who drive in between lanes. Say there's a two lane street,
but there are cars parked on the left lane, so people drive next to the
parked cars, but halfway into the right lane while they do it. Choose
the right one, you can get into the left later!
- Customers who can't read. Can I please get some scrambled eggs and
bacon even though it's 4pm and the menu clearly states that the
breakfast menu ENDS at 1pm? Can I please order my food at the counter
when the board out the front clearly says full table service provided,
please take a seat just to be a complete pain in the arse? thanks.
- CUSTOMERS IN GENERAL!
- People who don't clean up their mess after cooking. OR, if they don't clean up their mess, at least soak the pots/plates/whatever that will be hard to wash later
- People that fight til the death when they are completely wrong, and will never ever acknowledge when they are proven wrong. People who think they are top shit and will talk over everyone else because only they matter.
- People who drive in the middle of a carpark 'road', and then try to move over when they see you. It doesn't work!! I feel like just sitting in a really awkward position for them to get around to make them realize to stay on their own part!
- People who talk over the top of you
- Housemates girlfriends that are completely stupid i.e.:
- turning the non-working oven fan on more than 2 times, not realising its 3 in the morning and it is extremely loud
- parking very badly in the driveway when it's the only place I have to park on a busy main street
- stealing my fan on the previous day and having to go through the awkward "hang on, I'm in bed, wait til I get changed" situation
I was just looking up a whereis map and then copying it to put routes over the top of it (to work out how to ride there in the morning) when I realised, Camberwell isn't the closest station to me and I'm riding completely too far! (but still will ride too far because I don't really know this station well). Take a look for yourselves!
So these pictures on the left here, the first one is what I think is the best route to Camberwell station from my house. The second one (red routing) is the one to Willison station. Crazy huh?!
And the rest are just other routes to Camberwell station, the blue one being the way I take every day by the bus.
So that's my quick story, now I must go to bed, and think about where I'm going to chain my bike. I think it's going to rain tomorrow, but there are no under cover places to chain bikes. Oh well, guess I'm riding home with a wet bum. hehe.
Goodnight!!
back to uni it is...
I've been back for a whole week and I am exhausted.
I have four days of classes a week,
one hour monday
three hours tuesday
day off wednesday
five hours thursday
three hours friday
and then I've been working as well.
last week I did
monday 12 til 4 sapore (4:30 - 5:30 lecture in between) and 5:30 til 10 spudbar
tuesday day off
wednesday 12 til 5 sapore and 5:30 til 10 spudbar
thursday 5:30 til 10 spudbar
friday 5 til 8 sapore
so that equals 12 hours work at cafe sapore and 13.5 hours work at spudbar
on friday Reece drove up and picked me and Tom up from the station/safeway, and drove us home. I then had to go to Sapore to work, so he stayed in Camberwell for a bit and then came in when I finished up. We both bought new shoes from the Converse shop at the DFO (they're awesome!) then went to Lord of the Fries for dinner. Then caught a train back to Camberwell and drove home. Stayed up for a bit then went to bed.
Woke up on Saturday and got ready, went to the Pixar exhibition at Federation Square. It was pretty awesome! We saw all the sketches and drawings and research and casts of figurines that have to be done to be able to make these amazing 3D films they make possible and realistic.
We walked around for a bit and looked at the shop upstairs with merchandise, then went to some burger place and I had a burger and we shared some chips. not the best burger I've ever tasted. =S
Then as we were walking out of Fed Square there was a street performer, on a UNICYCLE! I had to watch. He was pretty funny too. He juggled knives and yelled a lot.
Then we went and got a slurpee from 7-11, and caught a tram home. It was bloody freezing, Mum said it was raining in Geelong so the rain was coming. We got home and I packed my things and we drove home basically. Picked up Tom on the way and then had KFC, bummed around at Reece's and then got a taxi into town.
First stop was Chief's, where we found Matt, Hudgy and a few other people. Tom got me onto Frangelico and OJ, tastes like orange chocolate. awesome =D Watched the band we watched a few weeks previously, with the middle-age singer thinking she's still about 15. yuk. Pretty dodgy guitar playing, but oh well. We spent most of the time outside.
Then Jess & Beck (and Gerard) met us at Chiefs, and we headed to Bended. We sat ourselves down in a booth and Jess, Beck & me had a few rounds of Frangelico & OJ. Then Jess got us a round of fruit tingles, tooo purpley for me. =S Drank half anyway.
Next stop was KFC, yes again. Reece had a burger and I had his large chips. Leigh and Glenn met us there and we watched the drunken idiots and the massive amount of chicken bones on the floor. yuk.
Tom wanted a kebab so he went and got one of those while we waited at the taxi rank. Waited for about 20 minutes before we got a cab because the line was so long! Got back to Reece's, and Tom continued on to Lara. Got into bed and went to sleep straight away I was that exhausted.
Woke up this morning and got out of bed and ready to go to Jess's for a spa!! Went home to get my bathers and also petrol for Reece, then out there. Spa was awesome, nice and hot on a cold day! Then came home and cooked chicken risotto for dinner as well as Mum's soup and pies.
Sorted out my lecture notes and now I'm going to bed. I'm getting my couch tomorrow, and my computer fixed then training it up to Melbourne for my 4:30 lecture then back home. Back to another working week without Reece. Even longer this time...a fortnight... because I'll have to work the weekend at Spudbar.
Another bout of torture. See you when I'm alive and functioning properly again.
today has been a shit day.
