Well, today, 4 years ago, Reece and I decided we'd be boyfriend and girlfriend. It was a mutual decision, we'd both asked our mutual friends to ask each other out for each other. If that makes sense. But the funny thing was, it was on the SAME day: I put a letter in Kristen's letterbox asking her to do it for me, and Reece asked Kristen and Jasmine at school to ask me. They just said yes, because they already kind of had my consent! and so, our relationship started.
For the first year, we were just getting to know each other. and the feelings that came with that first love... first time you hold hands, first real together kiss, first time out alone. It was pretty exciting. We came to know each other really really well, and we still do. We are described as the cute couple; the couple that every other couple wants to be like. We are the couple that never fights, that laughs the whole way through. We are lovers, but most of all, we are best friends.
And so, to celebrate our 4 years of togetherness, we decided we would go to the Mecure, a trendy hotel in Geelong, for the night. We organised it 6 months ago, and last night was the night. We had been excited about this night for a long time!! Every time we saw the red lights on top of the Mecure in the city skyline, we got little pangs of excitement rushing through our bodies. Thinking of how good it will be to have a romantic night together, of how fun the spa would be, and most of all, to celebrate the fun times we've had over the years!
Waking up on the day of the stay at the Mecure, Reece felt a little weird. My Dad thought he was sick, and so too did my Mum, the day after! But they are wrong. Reece is fine. He just felt a bit weird. You know those feelings you get when you're not really in this world, you're having completely weird sensations and you don't really know what's happening around you, yet you are completely conscious? I think that's what he was feeling. I could be wrong.
Anyway, we got to the Mecure, to check in. We had to drive around the block because we missed the car park entrance. That was a fun little drive. We then went in, and checked in. But little did we know, we had to pay another $100 on top of the room/breakfast fee for a deposit fee, because we were paying with cash. And as we didn't have this money, we put in all our money together to get $61 deposit. That was ok. A bit annoying they didn't tell us about that though!!
Haha then we went to go to our room. 712 was written on our card/key. There was no door marked 712!! Little did we know, we had the special suite, that had a name. The Diplomat Suite. When we finally found, and could get into, our room, we jumped around searching every little corner and nook and cranny, and found all we could. We loved the swirly tv best, but, not it's channel selection. The bar fridge was another favorite, but the best of all? The corner spa, and the double shower. wow!!
When we got to our room, after all the snooping, we looked at the beautiful views, and then went for a stroll into town. We went to the atm to get some money out, after the wallet exhaustion at the check-in desk, and went for a walk through Coles to buy some wine, and lollies, and wine glasses; JB HI-FI to find a cd to play in our cd player, (Incubus' newie, "Light Grenades"); and went into Adairs to look for some doona covers for my new Melbourne bed. But the excitement didn't stop there!! We saw Toni, girlfriend of Matt Cini in Coles, had a bit of a chat to her, then we had KFC for dinner. Yum-O! We were well and truly full.
We got back to the Mecure, and decided, after watching our only channel of the ABC, that we would get into the Spa. But alas, Reece found something else!! Matching white bathrobes!!! We laughed for a while before we decided that they would have to be worn. So we filled the spa, emptied a whole bottle of "Bath Gel" into it, thinking it would make bubbles. At first, no, it didn't. But when we turned the jets on full boar, the bubbles came out to play, and overflowed the spa!! we were covered in bubbles. We took many pictures, drank wine, put starburst in our wine to see if it tasted better, had a little mischievous fun, and then went into the double shower to cool off from that heated adventure.
The double shower was quite nice, a little refreshment goes a long way. I got out, dried myself and got into my white bathrobe. Reece cooled off a bit longer, got out and got into his gown! They are the most comfortable things and we fell in love immediately. We lounged around our 'apartment' in our gowns, watching ABC to the early hours of the morning, taking pictures of ourselves as usual, and finally, falling asleep in the most comfortable bed you have ever felt in your whole entire life.
I woke up first the next morning, had a shower and got ready, as the buffet breakfast was only served between 6:30am and 10:30am. We had to leave by 10:30am, or thereabouts. I got up at about 8:30/9, had a shower, got dressed, and waited for Reece to wake up. I snuggled up to him and gave him a big hug, and he pulled me in. It was a nice relaxing hug, one of those ones that you will never forget, and make you feel all tingly inside.
Finally he got out of his haven, not willingly I might add, as this bed was to die for. He got changed, and we went down for possibly the largest breakfast either one of us has ever had. There were bacon and eggs and toast and cereal, fruit and muesli and sausages and mushrooms and little quiche things and cream for your fruit, fruit in shot glasses, and the best apple juice on the planet. (there were other juices, we just liked apple the best. the orange juice seemed to go quickly! typical breakfast juice...).
We consumed as much as possible, leading us to be sitting for 10mins at a time, just waiting for our stomachs to let up a bit more room to keep going. I had bacon and eggs, twice; fruit bowl; 2 pieces of toast; muesli; a couple of shot glasses of raspberry juices, and a couple more of kiwi fruit. I didn't need to eat for the rest of the day. Reece had quite the same. He loved watching the toast get cooked through the round-a-bout toaster.
After breakfast, we went back to our room to pack up, take some last minute pictures, and check out. We were sad that our most waited for night of the year was over, but glad that it had come around, and glad that it was one of the best nights of the year. It was well worth the wait. and the money!!
So, I would like to thank my gorgeous boyfriend for a great night out, and one that I will never forget. Happy 4 year Anniversary, i hope there are many more happy years to come, and i can't wait to make all these beautiful memories with you!! I love you a million spa baths....
